"It's like a Jewish Lord Of The Rings." Well, kinda. But you can watch for yourselves, in U.S. theaters this April 21, 2023.
A paranoid man goes on an epic odyssey in order to get back home in this bold and ingeniously depraved new film from writer/director Ari Aster. The filmmaker behind previous horror hits like Hereditary -- the worst date movie ever -- and Midsommar is at it again. This time, he's vowed to terrify his audience, in a recent interview published in the NY Times.
In Aster's latest film, Joaquin Phoenix plays a Monk-like character who is forced to leave his cavernous apartment when his mom is crushed by a chandelier. But don't expect Phoenix to be all movie star handsome. He's paunchy and pallid as Beau and that's the way Aster wanted him.
The film is an A24 release, the company behind Everything Everywhere All At Once, Uncut Gems, Lady Bird, Moonlight, HBO's Euphoria and much, much more.
