For two weeks, starting on the 1st of October, the idyllic property on Huruvalhi Island will be hosting Chef Bobby for a series of curated events which include Vietnamese family style lunches, Pan-Asian dinners, cooking masterclasses and an exclusive private dinner with the chef. All available to those who have booked a holiday at the resort during those two weeks.
As an author and restauranteur, Bobby Chinn is known the world over. He's a celebrity chef with Arab roots and a taste for East Asian food. During his residency at The Standard, Maldives, he will be hosting special events in Guduguda, the property's authentic Maldivian restaurant and the first of its kind in the Maldives.
Born to Egyptian and Chinese parents in New Zealand and raised across several continents, Chinn is instantly recognizable as a media personality, celebrity chef and now a permanent fixture on MBC's Top Chef Middle East. He also hosts Keep It Simple which launched in 2020. On his journey to internationally acclaimed chef, author and restaurateur, Bobby has established himself as a mainstay of the global food-channel networks.
He is recognized as an expert on Asian and Middle Eastern cuisines. He regularly features as a Guest Chef on the world’s favorite cooking shows and has collaborated with such personalities as Keith Floyd, Martha Stewart, Anthony Bourdain, Antony Worrall Thompson and Andrew Zimmern.

During the first in a series of internationally-renowned culinary showcase, Chef Bobby will introduce modern Vietnamese and Pan-Asian cuisine, with his playful twist of bridging east and west.
Chinn’s specially-curated menu, which will be presented at Guduguda -- styled in a traditional Maldivian setting, low on the floor on cushions indoor and out, and overlooking the stunning turquoise Maldivian waters. Chef Bobby will be serving family style meals into a symphony of small plates and a Pan-Asian 8-course set dinner. The set course menu will feature some of his signature dishes like his tamarind glazed crab cake, green tea smoked rack of lamb, lobster cellophane noodles and chocolate molten cake made from Vietnam's own artisanal chocolate maker Marou.
