Escape Room shenanigans is the name of the game in new UAE celebrity television offering Al Shifra, which sees a host of stars from the MENA region paired up to rise to a series of challenges and escape from a sealed room using brain-power, clues and perhaps an element of luck.
The series, which begins airing on September 5 via OSN and presented by Dubai-based influencer Sherif Al Fayed along with radio host Mohamed Kais and Nancy Eskander, features 24 celebrities who have just a few hours to bond before facing up to the challenge of solving a series of puzzles as they try and work out how to escape from the eponymous locked room.
The contestants will include Palestinian artist Mohamad Assaf; Lebanese TV presenter Joelle Mardinian; Iraqi singer Shatha Hassoun, Lebanese TV host Wissam Breidy; Tunisian model Rym Saidi, Lebanese television presenter Wissam Hanna; Emirati anchor and actress Mahira Abdel Aziz; Emirati actor Saoud AlKaabi, Lebanese media personality Zoya Sakr and actress Leila Ben Khalifa.

The pairings will have to escape from either a hospital, a haunted house, a chilling zoo, or a disaster-stricken resort.
In her episode, Ben Khalifa was paired with an old friend, Lebanon’s Wissam Hanna in the hospital set, with both having to work-out a challenging series of medical mysteries. She said:” “I have never experienced something so challenging and fun at the same time. I can’t wait for the people to watch it.”
