First trailer for 'Zalava', Iranian film in Venice and TIFF, lands on 'Deadline'

The first trailer for Iranian drama-horror Zalava, which is playing in the Venice Critics’ Week (the independent and parallel section of the Venice Film Festival) and in the Midnight Madness section at Toronto, has landed on Deadline.

The Kurdish and Persian language film is directed by Arsalan Amiri from a script by Ida Panahandeh, Amiri and Tahmineh Bahram and features a cast including Navid Pourfaraj, Pouria Rahimi Sam, Hoda Zeinolabedin, Baset Rezaei, Shaho Rostami, Fereydoun Hamedi, Zahed Zandi and Saleh Rahimi. Producers are Samira Baradari, Rouhollah Baradari for Touba Films, with Level K handling international sales.

Set in 1978, it is about a young police officer who investigates an exorcism in a small village in Iran.
