With cinemas around the region finally starting to open and long held-back major releases set to finally get to open, MIME takes a look at some of the key films set to open this month, and also takes a quick look at new titles set for release in June.

Family titles naturally dominate screen, but there are also some tasty options for action and adventure fans with stars such as Angelina Jolie, Jason Statham, Emma Stone, Vin Diesel and Charlize Theron all featuring in some of the upcoming blockbusters.

THOSE WHO WISH ME DEAD

With Angelina Jolie, Nicholas Hoult, Finn Little

Angelina Jolie stars as Hannah, a smoke jumper and survival expert still reeling from the loss of three lives she failed to save from a fire and now living in the Montana wilderness. She she comes across a traumatised teenage boy who turns out to be a murder victim chased by two and must try and protect him from the killers and a forest fire.

Animated fun set in the land of bicycles, Spokesville. Speedy, is a mountain bike ready to be the leader when the gasoline engine comes to disturb the city. Speedy and his friends, Pinon, Gassy and Montana will fight to keep Spokesville clean.

Highlights for June include post-apocalyptic horror-thriller sequel A Quiet Place: Part II (June 10), again starring Emily Blunt; animated romp Spirit Untamed (June 3) about a wild mustang called Spirit and new Pixar animation Luca (June 17) set on the Italian Riviera about the unlikely friendship between a human being and a sea monster disguised as a human.

Due in July is superhero adventure Black Widow (July 8), with Scarlett Johansson reprising her role as BlackWidow/Natasha Romanoff, in a story set between the films Captain America:Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War; the long-awaited sequel Space Jam: A New Legacy (July 15), featuring Don Cheadle and Bugs Bunny and Disney’s adventure romp Jungle Cruise (July 29), starring Emily Blunt and DwayneJohnson.
