La Biennale di Venezia has announced their latest call for the Venice Gap-Financing Market which just launched today, Wednesday February 23rd 2022, on the website www.labiennale.org. The call will remain open through May 7th 2022.
The ninth edition of the Venice Gap-Financing Market will be held from September 2nd to 4th 2022, as part of the Venice Production Bridge of the 79th Venice International Film Festival which will be held from 31 August – 10 September 2022 and is once again directed by Alberto Barbera.
The Venice Gap-Financing Market is a platform for selected projects that aims to support European and international producers in securing full financing for their projects. These include Fiction, Documentaries and Immersive Projects which, through one-to-one meetings with professionals in the field such as producers, sales agents, distributors, financiers, broadcasters and funds work with the invited professionals all of whom are decision-makers in the industry.
The call is open to European and international projects, in the following categories:
o Feature-length fiction and documentary films: a selection will be made of up to 27/33 projects for feature-length films and narrative or creative feature documentaries, including 3 Biennale College Cinema projects, from all over the world. There is no genre limitation, and animation films are welcome.
o Immersive Projects: there will be a selection of up to 10/12 VR projects from all over the world.
The 3-day event will run from 2– 4 September 2022 and will present up to 45 European, international projects and Immersive Projects developed during the Biennale College Cinema Virtual Reality.
