According to reports, Malayalam actress Manju Warrier is set to star in Ayisha, a film she has described on Facebook as being the “first ever commercial film” to be released simultaneously in Malayalam and Arabic.
The film is to be directed by Aamir Pallickal. He has indicated that his debut film will also feature Arabic actors and will be shot partly in other countries -- as well as the Middle East. Filming is set to start in January 2022.
Manju plays the titular role in the film, which is hailed as a family drama. Ashif Kakkodi, who wrote Halal Love Story has scripted, Vishnu Sharma is the cinematographer, with Appu N. Bhattathiri as the editor. The film is produced by Zakariya Mohammed.
