In Nightmare Alley an ambitious carny (Bradley Cooper) who has a talent for manipulating people with a few well-chosen words, hooks up with a female psychiatrist (Cate Blanchett) who is even more dangerous than he is. If that sounds like the premise of your next favourite film, well it may just be. With his previous work, the Mexican born Guillermo del Toro -- Pan's Labyrinth, The Shape of Water -- has always amazed and entertained audiences, and his latest looks no different. Visually stunning and intriguing at once, the story is based on the novel by the same name written William Lindsay Gresham, which was already made into a 1947 film noir starring Tyrone Power.
The film, which will hit theaters in time for the Holiday season, also stars Toni Collette, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins, Rooney Mara, Ron Perlman and David Strathairn.
