Pop up exhibition SEE LV at Dubai Mall for the weekend

Originally inaugurated in Wuhan, China in 2020, SEE LV then traveled to Hangzhou. On its third worldwide stop, the first outside China, SEE LV comes to Dubai this weekend, and will showcase the Maison's heritage in all its fashionista beauty at the Dubai Mall Fountain.

Mixing archival objects from the Maison’s Heritage Collection with recent creations, SEE LV allows visitors to delve deep into the universe of Louis Vuitton through immersive and digital experiences. Uncovering all facets of Louis Vuitton’s history and creations through a contemporary lens, the exhibition brings together a remarkable collection of modern collections and early twentieth-century trunks, artistic collaborations and iconic leather creations.

The history of the Maison began in 1837 when a 16-year-old Louis Vuitton arrived in Paris and began apprenticing for Monsieur Maréchal. Seventeen years later, Vuitton opened his own workshop at 4 Rue Neuve-des-Capucines near the Place Vendome. Growing from a family business to an empire in just over a century, the Maison is synonymous with elegance and expensive taste, yet has found a way to appeal to everyday consumers with a wide variety of goods, from bags to belts, to costume jewelry featuring its recognizable LV logo. To date, the LV line has been created by celebrated designers such as Marc Jacobs, Nicolas Ghesquière, who has been their creative director since 2013 and the late Virgil Abloh, who was the artistic director of Louis Vuitton's menswear collection from 2018.

The Dubai Mall has already seen fashion exhibitions, such as the iconic Le Théâtre Dior in 2013 which highlighted Christian Dior's legacy through a kind of magical showcase of miniature mannequins and small-scale replicas of Dior's designs.

SEE LV in all its splendor is free to the public, with highlights including a portrait of the young Louis Vuitton, conceived by artist Refik Anadol using artificial intelligence, and a wall of Louis Vuitton’s most iconic bags and images of their celebrity friends, including Alicia Vikander, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone the Hadids and Kim K. among many more.
