A fresh new Japanese menu is being introduced into VOX cinemas in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and will include a selection of chef Akira Back's signature dishes as well as new dishes made just for VOX. Back has teamed with VOX for THEATRE, which will be available at cinemas in Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Mirdif and Nakheel Mall in Dubai as well as Al Jimi Mall, Nation Towers, The Galleria Al Maryah Island and Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi.
THEATRE by VOX was launched in 2015, with a menu from the late, great British chef Gary Rhodes. Food can be served in a private lounge area before or after the movie, or directly to the cinema seat during a film. Back's menu will be available in UAE cinemas later this month, and is set to be served at cinemas in Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait later in 2021.
“THEATRE has revolutionised the luxury cinema experience and I’m extremely proud to join forces with VOX Cinemas given our shared commitment to innovation,” said Akira Back.
“Together we believe that F&B is a complementary component of going to the movies and we have designed a menu that is sure to appeal to the most discerning guests and movie-lovers,” added Back, who was born in Korea and raised in Colorado. He has a restaurant in the W Dubai – The Palm, as well as 16 restaurants across the world including in Beverly Hills, Toronto, Singapore and the Michelin-starred Dosa in Seoul.
