Dubai has come a long way since Basma Abu Ghazaleh launched her luxury ready-to-wear brand Kage in 2009. Gone are the days of a few select red carpet brands and in is a new generation of high-end contemporary designers.

Among them, Kage of course, Kuwaiti designer Haya Al Abdulkareem who founded handbag label Folklore, Qatari designer Yasmin Mansour and 1309 Studios, pictured above, also founded by a Qatari, Ghada Al Subaey.
